QED Co-Sponsors Leading Forum For Intellectual Property Licensing
QED, the intellectual property (IP) licensing arm of the technology development
and licensing company Scipher plc, is pleased to announce that it is co-sponsoring
the Fourth Executive Briefing by the online technology and IP market place, yet2.com.
Held on April 23rd - 24th in Boston, the briefing will provide an opportunity
for licensing executives and senior managers from international Fortune 500 companies
to exchange ideas surrounding the future of licensing and intellectual property
on the Internet.
The conference "Managing the Intellectual Property Asset Portfolio Lifecycle"
is also being sponsored by Arthur D. Little and Deloitte and Touche, and will
include seminars on topics for developing and executing a successful licensing
strategy. Furthermore, representatives from premier R&D corporations such
as 3M, Boeing, Caterpillar, Dupont, Honeywell / GE, Rockwell and Takeda, will
discuss their experiences in technology transfer.
"Our conference provides an open forum to share ideas and best practices
for improving the technology licensing process," said Chris De Bleser, CEO
of yet2.com. "With executives from over 90 organisations participating, this
year's conference will be the largest gathering of global executives who have
ever come together to discuss IP exchange. This overwhelming response underscores
the importance of intellectual asset management and its growing role throughout
the world in all industries."
Speaking at this US conference comes weeks after QED co-hosted, with yet2.com,
a seminar for leading European companies on "Exploiting Intellectual Property
in the 21st Century". These seminars mark QED's efforts to increase awareness
about why and how companies should manage and exploit their intellectual property
portfolios.
"The quality of delegates at this conference proves the extent to which
intellectual property licensing is becoming the hot corporate topic for leading
international companies", said David Hulston, Managing Director of QED. "We
are delighted to be speaking at this conference and demonstrating how Scipher
and QED are creating valuable new revenue streams for our clients and ourselves
by the proactive licensing of technology products and patents."
