Wacoh Corporation to license out accelerometer sensor technology
The Wacoh Corporation, the award winning Japanese technology design
organisation, today announces its intention to license its patented
MEM accelerometer sensor technology to US and European companies.
Wacoh has appointed QED Intellectual Property Limited, the patent
licensing arm of technology development and licensing company Scipher
plc, (LSE: SIP) to negotiate licences for the use of Wacoh's intellectual
property (IP) and to help transfer the technology to a variety of
consumer product and automotive companies.

Scipher appointed to license Seagate patents
Scipher plc ("Scipher") the technology development and

Fairfield Resources International, Inc. ("FRI") has secured
an agreement to work with Seagate Technology LLC ("Seagate"),

QED licenses Lucent audio software to Trafficmaster™
QED Intellectual Property Limited, the patent licensing arm of

a licence to Trafficmaster plc ("Trafficmaster") to use
audio technology owned by Lucent Technologies Incorporated ("Lucent").
The software is for use in Trafficmaster's forthcoming in-car vehicle
navigation system, 'Smartnav'.

Acquisition of Fairfield Resources International Incorporated
Scipher plc ("Scipher") is pleased to announce that it
has signed an agreement with Fairfield Resources International,
Incorporated ("FRI"), an intellectual property management
business based in Stamford, Connecticut, USA, to acquire the entire
share capital of FRI. Consideration for the acquisition is for £3.2m,
satisfied by the allotment and issue of 2,797,615 new Scipher shares.
Completion of the transaction is subject to, among other things,
approval by the shareholders of FRI.
This announcement is not an offer of securities for sale into the
United States. The Scipher shares will not be registered in the
United States and may only be offered or sold in the United States
pursuant to an exemption from registration. No public offering of
Scipher shares will be made in conjunction with this transaction.
